First long run in many years

Finally, I have managed to get out for a decent long run.

This is probably the furthest distance I have ran in 3 years! Before the pandemic, I would regularly run 2 12km routes a week.

5’15”/KM pace, ouch! At that pace the Great North Run will be around the 1 hour 50 mark, not the 1:30’s that I previously ran.

Its going to be difficult to not run faster than my “current” abilities.

The run was relatively flat, It was a fasted run with no nutrition or fluids.

It was okay I suppose, as expected, it was very hard towards the end, but I haven’t trained and I’m overweight.

I’ll try to get 3 more of these runs in before the half marathon in September.
